The DisAI project recently organized its first scientific webinar on the topic of Disinformation Combating. The webinar was led by Dr. Symeon Papadopoulos, a Principal Researcher at CERTH.

During the webinar, participants were provided with a comprehensive overview of the research landscape related to disinformation. The focus was on the various methods and techniques used to spread disinformation; including text-based, visual, and multimodal disinformation, and also the emerging concern of DeepFakes. Attendees had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a wide range of research methods in the field of disinformation combating. Practical tools were discussed, too.

Through the webinar, KInIT researchers and partners gained knowledge about the typical tasks involved in combatting disinformation, commonly used datasets, as well as the state-of-the-art architectures employed in disinformation combating. The presenter also shared experience, lessons learned, and research outcomes of the Media Analysis, Verification, and Retrieval (MeVer) group at CERTH.
